“You Only have a constellation because you are linked to a spiritual father who has the blessing of the birthright. The birthright connects you to everything in your constellation” – John Bendixen
My Summary
This book was very special to me. It was the first book my pastor wrote, so it was a big deal to me. Having my pastor produce his first book is exciting, and I know there are many more to come. I really enjoyed reading this book; it brought a lot of light to me and showed me where I had missed the mark, but also where I’ve experienced key “Constellation” moments.
One of the key things that ministered to me was Jacob’s constellation and how a constellation is the series of events that take place, leading you to walk out God’s plan for your life. This book showed me how God has been present in my life and how He has guided me into my constellation—God’s plan for me. At the time, I didn’t pay much attention to certain events in my life or think deeply about them; I thought they were just awesome natural occurrences. Looking back now, I realize they were not merely events but occasions ordained by God, which I now see as part of my constellation.
Another key lesson the Lord showed me was the power of a Laban and the impact of Laban Syndrome. Reading the book was quite confronting at times because it revealed moments in my life where I have acted like a Laban toward others, which is not a good thing. I’ve wanted things for myself at the expense of others, and this is something I recognize and want to change.
Overall, this book was incredible, and I’m grateful I had the chance to read it. It’s the small yet significant things that will change and impact my life. It greatly blessed me, and I’m thankful for Ps John’s obedience to the Lord in bringing this revelation. If you don’t recognize and address Labans, you could spend your life under someone else’s control and power. That’s what this book did for me—it showed me how to be free from Labans in my life.
Where have you spotted Laban Syndrome in your own life? (Share a personal example)
The Laban Syndrome is very active in the world. I believe the world system is full of Labans because many people seek the best for themselves at the expense of others. This is contrary to Jesus’ teachings in His Word and does not display the love of God. Jesus says those who are first will be last, and the love of God is forgiving, always putting others first.
I recognize that I have acted like a Laban in some instances in my life. The revelation from this book has shown me this, and I have repented for it and want to grow further. However, I have also experienced the other side of Laban Syndrome, even in church. One time, I worked on a project with a project leader who had authority over me. To be fair, he wasn’t well at the time, but he made things very difficult for me. He used me for his benefit, doing little work himself while piling tasks on me. He would send SMS messages in the middle of the night asking for updates, which felt overwhelming. I felt used and constantly manipulated.
I share this story because I learned a lot from it. The biggest lesson was that, regardless of whether a leader is right or wrong, I must submit to their delegated authority. At first, I resisted, thinking it was unfair, but then I prayed, “Lord, I’ll submit to him as my leader and ask for Your help.” The moment I took that approach, things became much easier because my perspective changed. I realized I was living out the Word, as Hebrews 13:17 says, “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account.” The Word clearly instructs us to submit, so I did.
A month later, God came through for me. He revealed the truth of the situation to the pastors, and I was set free. Now, things are much better—I forgave this person, and we work well together. I realized that my submission to him saved our relationship, and today we have a strong bond. Moving forward, when I face more Labans in my life, I will submit and trust God to set me free.
What Key events in your life have you recognised
as part of Gods Constellation for you?
The most significant constellation moments in my life began with the “I Will Take the Children” messages. These messages, brought by my two senior pastors in 2020 and inspired by God, changed my life. They prompted me to question and seek God’s plan for my life. After seeking the Lord, I decided to join the iXchanger program I’m currently in, which has transformed me. Those messages were a key part of my constellation, guiding me to follow God’s plan. They were confronting at the time because they revealed the truth to me, and I’m grateful I chose to embrace it.
Another key event was when I fully recognized Ps John as my spiritual father. After this moment, my spiritual father began to speak over me, watch over me, and guide me. My future gained direction, and my gifts started being trained by an apostle. Just as Jacob received the blessing from Isaac, when I accepted Ps John as my spiritual father, I received the blessing of a father, and I’m still walking in that blessing. Praise God, this was a major part of my constellation.
