Chariots of Light Merry Pebbles Outreach
This was my first COL outreach and man was it a good one. Leaving on Sunday after church every one was so excited and ready for the week ahead. I drove Heins Jimmy to merry Pebbles and the ride there was great I had great chats with my mom in the car. Stopping at Millies halfway to Merry pebbles, I could stop and catch up with the bikers. I have never really been into bikes or come from a biking background, so stopping and just looking at the Bikes was pretty cool. At Millies I got to see Bill Horn in action I saw him walk right up to two other bikers so confidently and boldly, he shared the good news with them. It was really cool for me to see because Bill made it look so easy and that’s the way it’s supposed to be. After seeing that I now understood what Chariots of Lights stood for and how people get Jesus and get Saved through Motorcycles. It was awesome for me to see even at the lunch stop at Graskop how big of an attraction the bikes are. The bikes draw people in, people are very interested in what this is and why we ride bikes, that’s the perfect opportunity to then share the Good news with People. I wasn’t able to ride on the Bikes but Grobbies did offer however my mom wasn’t keen on me riding that will soon change!!. Seeing all the bikes I had a deep moment of reflection to see that this is our legacy. This was started by our spiritual father Brother Jerry Savelle and here we are Riding motorbikes in South Africa. For that reason, I want to be part of Chariots to join this legacy and start riding. The Week at merry pebbles seeing the Riders go has put a desire in me to start by getting my learner license.
Relationship Aspect:
The relationship aspect of these trips that we go on is always the highlight of my trips and this one was no different. This trip was really special because I was able to have great conversations with members of the church and not just the usual mixchangers I always chat to. On the first day, I had a great chat with Oom Bertus, we chatted about motorbikes and he taught me a few things about them and he also showed me how you drive in convey.
Merry Pebbles was also special because I got to spend quality one-on-one time with my mom which nowadays is very rare. We spent 3 hrs in the car together and we had great chats about the messages and what God is doing in Our family. I spent most of the 3 days with mom so it was a really special bonding time. We stayed in a house with Ps Garth and his family and that was also special because I got to serve Ps Garth and his family in braaing their meat for them. I also got to spend time with their kids which was lots of fun as they have so much energy. Overall the relationships this week were amazing everyone got on well and everyone helped each other. I even met a new guy named Micheal who joined us in the Mixchange program.
The Sessions:
At Merry Pebbles, we had two sessions with Ps John, Bill, and ginger. In the first session, we all gathered together and Ps John asked us mixchangers to share with everyone what God has been doing in our lives. I thought Ps John was going to ask me but he didn’t he asked others and it was really powerful to hear and listen to their testimonies. It was amazing to see what God has done in the lives of all that have fully embraced this process and Journey. Ps John asked Harno, Bradley, and Kaenan to share and man it was special to hear them speak. Having been close to them and seeing them come at the beginning of this year they are completely changed and its amazing to see. It’s like they are all 3 new completely different humans. At the sessions, Bill shared a bit with us. He spoke on the open hand of God and that was really big for me as he shared that if we want to see God do miracles in our lives and see him move in our lives then we need to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. I will always remember to firstly be teachable and humble myself.
A big take for me was Bill spoke on Boldness. Now Boldness is a topic I absolutely love its something dear to me because last year on Footsteps to destiny Ps John spoke over me and said I have a spirit of Boldness. Now I always thought boldness is how well you speak. Bill shared this definition with us that i’ll always remembers he said to have Boldness as a Christian is to have Compassion, Passion, and Love. Now, that’s the Boldness Im after.
